"It's quite alright. It was a simple question, one I don't blame you for asking." Dia murmurs, small forced smile "The dough is ready to shape, if you're still up to helping."
"Yeah," he replied, straightening and stepping over. "What do I do?"
"Hey! Why don't you stop!"
"Because you're a waste of my time," she called, continuing on.

"Yeah. What do I do?"
"Form the dough into balls. I changed my mind, I'm making some cookies instead, not cupcakes."
"Because you're a waste of my time,"
"I wouldn't be if you'd just stop and let me take you in. Or kill you." he mutters, following her still

"Form the dough into balls. I changed my mind, I'm making some cookies instead, not cupcakes."
Cael nodded and started working with the dough, making little balls and setting them aside. Once in a while he would glance at Dia to make sure that she was okay, but for the most part, he remained quiet.

She paused and looked back at him, gaze sharp and wary, then guarded. "What do you mean?"[/font]

Finding a dingy pan, Dia starts pressing the balls flat against it as he lays them out for her, gaze distant but movements methodical
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, that's what I do for a living. I hunt down criminals, deserters, riffraffs and bring them in, or eliminate them. And you're nothing less, someone sneaking around the camp." Keifer states, arms crossing over his chest, eyes narrowed

Cael paused and looked at her from the corner of his eye. "Are you okay?" he asked quietly after a moment.
"I mean, that's what I do for a living. I hunt down criminals, deserters, riffraffs and bring them in, or eliminate them. And you're nothing less, someone sneaking around the camp."
Her eyes narrowed and her mask moved as she frowned deeply. "You know nothing of what I am," she murmured. "I am not on the same level as them."

"Are you okay?"
Jumping, Dia looks at him with wide eyes before her lip trembles, looks away, forcing a smile even as tears prick "Yea.. Just umm. Need to go check on something." she whispers, barely getting that out before she heads for the door quickly
"You know nothing of what I am. I am not on the same level as them."
"Then what are you? An assassin?" he murmurs, raising a brow as he watches her, hand instinctively reaching for the bow at his back

"Yea.. Just umm. Need to go check on something."
Cael turned quickly as she left, reaching a hand out to stop her, but fell silent and still. His hand lowered and he pursed his lips, then continued the work on the dough. "You could talk to me, you know," he murmured to no one, brows drawn tight.
"Then what are you? An assassin?"
"Nothing for you to know." Her eyes sharpened at the movement, and she took off into the trees for cover.

"You could talk to me, you know,"
Stopping outside the door, Dia stills at his words before she trembles, takes off running through the camp, reaching her tent. Pushing her way inside, she kneels by her cot, tears falling as she presses her face to the cover, unable to hold back her sobs, trying to stay quiet so she doesn't alert anyone
"Nothing for you to know."
"Hey!" Keifer hisses, nocking an arrow as he chases her "Who said you could get away!"

"Hey! Who said you could get away!"
Calestial ran without a word, though her instincts kicked in and she turned back towards the camp, taking a long route around. She dashed through underbush and trees with ease, and when she came to the fence, she climbed it in two easy lunges up, disappearing into the maze of tents and buildings without a sound.
Cael worked in silence, continuing on as his thoughts remained dulled. However, when someone steps into the building he looks up, half startled. "Dia?" though his voice cuts short as he stares at a masked figure dressed in black from head to toe, arm wraps on her arms, and immediately he recognized her. "You," he hissed, and the girl lunged forward and pulled her knife out. She swipes, and Cael barely manages to pull a knife free from the set on the counter, parrying the blow with movements just as swift.

Cursing when he loses sight of her, Keif slips his arrow back into the quiver and slings his bow around to his back before he scales a tree within seconds, looking over the camp to try and spot her
Arm wrapping around her stomach, Dia leans back on the balls of her feet, free hand covering her mouth as she cries harder, locket slipping out from beneath her shirt. Quieting down a few minutes later, she wipes at her eyes furiously and stands, heading back towards the kitchen, meaning to apologize to Cael. Reaching the entrance however, she stills at the sight of him and the girl, eyes wavering as she goes to take a step back at the sight of the knife, lips part, inhaling to scream for help, turning to run

The girl lunges for another attack at Cael, and he ducks, and as he spins around, he spots Dia at the door, and his face pales. "Dia--"
The girl whirls around, dancing out of Cael's range, and when her eyes fall on the woman, she curses. She can't have witnesses. She dashed towards her, knife ready, but Cael was just as quick, catching Calestial and tackling her to the side, and the two go rolling in the dirt.
"Dia, stay back!" Cael hisses as he rolls to his feet. This isn't the first time he's encountered the girl in black.
The girl mimics his movements and lunges again, but as she aims for his side, he aims for her face. She jerks to the side, her knife cutting deeply into Cael's side as his caught on the fabric of her mask, ripping it and cutting her cheek. She twists out of the way then darts off, and Cael takes the chase, though he stops after a few strides, gasping and holding his side.
"She got away again," he murmurs, looking down as he pulls his hand away. "And I nearly saw her face."

Seeing the girl run out, Keifer's eyes narrow and he sets his bow up in a flash, aiming his arrow at her as she runs. Seeing a man give chase however, his jaw ticks and he readjusts his aim, inhaling before he lets the arrow fly
"Dia, stay back!"
Freezing when the girl rushes at her with a knife, she jerks backwards in shock, falling on her ass with a grunt. Eyes widening as she watches the girl's blade sink into Cael's side, she stares in horror, unable to move for a few seconds as he runs past her. Finally getting her feet to work, she springs up and runs towards him, worry lacing through her "Cael, are you al-" she starts to ask before she stills less than two feet from him, slowly raises a hand, line of blood appearing on her cheek, arrow sticking out of the ground behind her

"Cael, are you al-"
He whirls and looks at Dia, his eyes finding the arrow. He whirls back around and studies the tree line, then grabs her wrist with his clean hand after tucking the knife in his boot so he could return it to the kithcen. "We need to get out of sight," he murmurs, pulling her towards the kitchen. "I didn't think there would be two of them," he mumbles to himself as he steps through the threshold.
Calestial hears the whistle of an arrow and dances out of the way, keeping her head low as she ducks behind several buildings, using them to navigate back to the fence. She failed, and now they would make her pay the price, and the thought of that made her chest tighten and anger boil in her blood. She scales the fence, perching at the top and surveying the area as she looked for the other guy, her hood shadowing the top half of her face. Then, she drops down and takes off running again.
No, she decides. She won't return until her target is dead. They won't find out that way.

"We need to get out of sight. I didn't think there would be two of them," he mumbles to himself as he steps through the threshold.
"Blood?..." Dia whispers, pulling her hand away from her cheek to look at it, shock setting in as his fingers wrap around her wrist, follows him into the tent, hands shaking, face starting to sting
Gritting his teeth when the man shifts a fraction of an inch and his arrow strikes the woman running towards him instead of his shoulder, Keif replaces his bow and looks around. Spotting Calestial, he goes to call out to her, taking off through the trees when she starts to run. Leaving his equipment in some branches so he can run faster, he drops down, tackling her from the side and hitting the ground hard

"Blood?..."
He turns and looks at her, gently taking her chin and surveying the cut, his hand still on his side. "It's just a scratch." He grabs a rag and uncorks a bottle of alcohol using his teeth, putting a small amount on the rag and holds it out to her. "Clean it with this. It'll sting, but it'll kill anything that was on the arrow."
Calestial lets out a cry as they tumble through the brush, landing on her back. The force of the fall forces her hood off her head, her face exposed as her mask hangs around her neck, torn. Frantically she reaches for her knife again, gaze snapping to Kief as she catches air in her lungs again.
