"And here I was enjoying a song. I wasn't. Matter of fact, I got here before you so wouldn't that mean you were following me?"
"You are behind me. Meaning you were following. Why?" She growled, demeanor having changed.

"You are behind me. Meaning you were following. Why?"
"Fine, I was. Call it what you will. You can hate me later. " he rolled his eyes. Did it really matter if he was or not? " Now to more pressing matters. Why are you attempting-" he put emphasis on the word. "To sneak away." He stared at her before moving to push the knife away.

She jerked her knife away, putting it back. "It's not sneaking. I just left without saying anything. Sneaking would be covering my tracks." She stepped away from him. "Why do you care?"

Dietrich watched her before sighing. "Dunno. But I figured you could use a few things." He pulled the pack off his shoulder and held it out to her.

She eyed the pack suspiciously. "What is this?" Her Gray gaze snapped back to him, wary.

"I only left my knife," she countered. "Why are you giving this to me. Actually, why have you let me go, fed me, followed me, and now giving me supplies." Her defenses flew up, poised to run. A kind heart? Unlikely. Everyone else always wanted something more. And she was hiding it all under her scrutinizing demeanor, one that wasn't hers.

"And your blanket. " He responded just as fast. "We went over this already. Do i really need a reason? " He sighed beofre looking away. "It's been awhile since I had seen anyone, and its not like i need any of that stuff.

"The blanket is yours, you dim wit," she snorted. "I don't trust people who help. I only get burnt in the end. What's the saying, fly too close to the sun and you'll get burnt, yeah? Well, I learned my lesson the hard way." Her mouth clamped shut at his last statement. It had been a while since she met someone not out for something more, so she understood. And that nearly made her cave. But she couldn't. She was a nomadic, a smuggler. She couldn't waste her time.
"Keep your stuff. I've got a drop to make," she murmured, turning away and started down the tracks again, biting her lip.

Wait... Dietrich watched her, his eyes swirling with emotion. He knew that he should let her go, he wasn't one to force others into staying. Usually he didn't care either way. Never the less, he unconsciously moved forward. A hand shot forward to grab her arm. "I never said that you had to trust me." says softly

"I never said that you had to trust me."
Dres froze, still facing forward as her face shadowed beneath heart good. She surely stayed too long. "How else is someone supposed to stay if they don't trust the person offering," she asked quietly.

"Well you do have a knife." Points out but remembers he had his gun. "Oh and you can hold onto my gun if it makes you feel better. "He shrugged nonchantly. "There's supplies to last awhile."his gaze lifted to her, dropping his hand. "Or."he held up a hand. "If you don't want to stay, let me come with you."

Dres slowly looked back at him, brow furrowed. Why was he so determined? She thought it over, mulling over the idea in her head. Stay? No, she didn't like the walls. Let him come? What if he got her killed. She was silent for a while. "You do realize that if you come, you may never see that shack or yours again, right?" She asked quietly. "I don't stay in one place long enough to settle. Do you really want to throw away your life of some peace for that?"

"I know that. " He looked down a moment, contemplating. A small chuckle left him. "Of course I don't want to. I like my shack in the middle of nowhere. I can never be found, and I only get a guest once in a blue moon so I don't really worry about supplies. " He met her gaze. "But I will. Besides the track will always be there. " he gave a small smile, trying to be indifferent. But he still felt a storm within him. That place was his home, it was always there.
