"I see. Must be nice to move rather than being stuck in one place. So what's the rest of the world like?"
"Tch, no better than here, that's for damned sure," she grumbled. "Cities are in slow decent, with either military dogs who think themselves over everyone else taking control, or some bloody gang thinking they run the place." Her gaze darkened and grew distant. "Other towns keep only to their own and chase you out like you're a rabid dog."

"Hmmm." he rubbed his chin in thought before looking away. He caught a change in her mood and exhaled. "So that's why you came running here. Oh and thank you for reminding me how shitty this place is." says sarcastically. "But its ten times better than what you just described. "No one out here but me and the foxes. "

"I meant no offense," she murmured, closing her eyes and cursing herself. He was offering her food, and even let her go without a scratch, and here she was talking down on his home. "It's been a long road."

"I meant no offense," "It's been a long road."
"Never said that. Well the foxes might be offended. " he chuckled before taking another drink. "I'm not blind to what has been happening. Just ignoring it more or less." he looked at her before shaking his head in agreement. "The way you plan on going is even longer."

She looked over at him, the movement stirring the clothing as her eyes studied him closely a moment, then she looked away again.5

Dietrich grew silent when she no longer answered him, only moving to stir the stew and returning to his sitting position. He wondered just what had caused her to run this far.

As the silence grew on, her eyes flicked about the shack, taking in the details. Seeing the bed, then seeing the bad condition the blanket was in, Dees turned and grabbed her pack, pulling it over. Inside, a couple of pans clanged together as she opened it, pulling out a rolled up whool blanket, tossing it onto the bed silently.
She then zipped the pack up and moved to a smaller pocket, pulling out a crumpled back of cigarettes, counting them. Just four, huh.... She would have to barter for some tobacco and paper to make more next time she was in town.
Sighing, Dres put the pack back inside the pocket, changing her mind. She twisted and placed the pack back where she originally sat it.

Dietrich moved the pot onto some granite when it was finished. He didn't say anything as she moved about the shack, merely watching her in silence. After a few minutes he couldn't take it. "You got a smoke?"

"You got a smoke?"
Hand still on the pack, she looked at him from over her shoulder, gauging. Then, she pulled the pack back out and shook one free, taking one between her lips and pulled out her matchbook, tossing the pack to him. "Here. Help yourself. Keep the rest of 'em. I don't need them. I'll get more when I get to another town." Taking a match, she struck it on her boot, lighting hers and shook the match out, tossing the match box to him too.

Dietrich raised both his hands to catch the items, one clutched by each hand. "I only wanted one wallflower. But the gift is appreciated. " he closed his mouth before smiling at her. Maybe he would share with her later, after all he had a good supply where he was. Putting the stick between his lips he lit it before throwing the burnt match into the still boiling pot.

She snorted in response, moving and sitting again the wall as she took a draw, exhaling as she laid her head back. "Consider it thanks for not shooting me. And for the food."

"Mmm, speaking of-it's done." He got to his feet and handed her a spoon and bowl that he got from a pack.

"Mmm, speaking of-it's done."
Looking up, cigarette in hand, she put out the flame and hid it in a pocket under her layers, taking the bowl and the spoon with a nod. "Thanks." She started to eat, face brightening a bit as she started to gobble it down, hasn't had a legitimate stew in ages

Thanks
"Mmm." Grunted in response as he took another drawl off of his, tilting his head up to exhale smoke. "Don't eat it all at once."
