"At least I had enough sense to stay away from a gun,"
"It has sense. "He bent down in the middle of the floor with the animal. Hearing her turn his head shot up. "You can't have any of the pelt, but it makes a decent stew."

"It has sense. You can't have any of the pelt, but it makes a decent stew."
She stopped and looked back at him, then looked at the shack, back at him. Her expression remained unreadable as her eyes retained their stony appearance, but inside she was feeling a twinge of fear. How long had it be since she had a roof over her head? She couldn't recall now. Yet the fear still remained.
However, at the mention of stew, her mouth watered. It would be a change from the rations she's been eating. But, she made a face. "Why feed a stranger? Food's hard enough to come by."

"I don't know. Didn't think I needed a reason just am. But if you want a reason, well you didn't take it for yourself. All of the others have attacked me and ran. "He turned to look at the wall, before holding a hand out palm up. "Give me your knife. "

Dres made an incredulous expression, mouth twisted in indecision, though the next moment she slipped a knife from the sheath around her neck and twirled it in her hand and held it out to him, the handle towards him.

"Thanks."Dietrich reached out and grabbed it, eyes still trained on the fox. After a moment he starts to skin and clean it. "Now any way you like your stew?"

"Thanks. Now any way you like your stew?"
Slowly, eyes trained on him, Dres slipped off her pack and set it by the door. "No. Food is food." She still couldn't understand why someone would have a meal with a stranger, nor could she understand why she was so wary. She dealt with people all the time. Was it because he didn't threaten her like others? She made a face. No. that couldn't be it.

"No. Food is food."
Dietrich smirked softly to himself before answering. "Good because you we're going to get whatever I made.".he then started removing the neat that was edible and chopping it up.

"Good because you we're going to get whatever I made."
Her eyes watched him closely, unmoving from the door except to close it to keep the cold out. She remained in all of her layers and her fingerless gloves, though she pulled her hood off, white dreaded hair pulled back into a tied ponytail, a few beads hanging here and there as she looked around the shack, lips pursed in thought.

Handful after handful of cubed meat were thrown into a pot a few feet from him. "So wallflower, where you from?" After a few minutes he starts cutting some carrots.

"So wallflower, where you from?"
Her shoulders tensed as she bristled and her head snapped to him, the gesture almost cat-like. Annoyance took her features and her expression grew defensive. "Don't call me that!" She paused, hesitating, shoulders unrolling as she looked away. "A town along the Eyrie." Her voice was quiet, brows resting low.

"Don't call me that!"
"I can and I will. Besides what else am I supposed to call you?" He turned to stare at her over his shoulder.
"A town along the Eyrie."
A brow raised and he tilted his head turning back to his task. "Eyrie eh? That's a long way from here. " he put all the carrots into the pot before heating it up.

"I can and I will. Besides what else am I supposed to call you?"
"Like I'm going to tell some random guy what my name is," she grumbled at him.
"Eyrie eh? That's a long way from here. "
She looked down, rubbing her hands together before sitting in the spot she was once standing in., and a muttered response followed, "Yeah, don't remind me."

"Like I'm going to tell some random guy what my name is,"
Dietrich snorted. "Then ill call you wallflower so no complaining. " If she was going to be stubborn and not give him her name, he saw no reason as not to call her everything under the moon.
"Yeah, don't remind me."
"So you told me where your from. But why are you in a wasted place like this old railroad?" his gaze lifted to her as she sat, leaning back himself as the food cooked.

Her arms crossed underneath the fabric, lowering her chin into the scarf as she avoided his gaze. "I'm a nomad. I move around a lot, hardly stay in one place." The couldn't tell him the other part-- it would put her work in jeopardy and get her caught.

"I'm a nomad. I move around a lot, hardly stay in one place."
"I see. Must be nice to move rather than being stuck in one place." He moved to sit on his mattress, taking a swig from a bottle that he grabbed on the way. "So what's the rest of the world like?"
