"What do you mean?"
"Oh. "He smiled. "Its dark in here, even I forget it's there sometimes. "

She studied it a moment, thinking. "Does it work?"

"Does it work?"
"It does. Its old though." He got up and moved to it. "I'm surprised I didn't keep you up last night. I come here when I can't sleep. Though this room is soundproof. "

She had moved to stand, but instead remained seated as he stood, watching him. "Had I not been so exhausted, I would've probably heard it. Though that's more of an excuse. I would've let sooner, too. You play?"

"I do." He ran his fingers over the keys lightly. "Although I hadn't always. And I don't as much anymore."

What do you play?"
"Whatever I feel like usually. Mostly I just mess around." He looks at her before nodding to the right. " If memory serves me right, theres a light switch. "

Tae looked over then stood, finding the switch. "You weren't always blind?"

You weren't always blind?"
"No. Most of my life, but not always." He absently played a few notes.

After flipping on the light, she moved back to her seat. "I see," she said quietly, listening to him play a moment. "It must be rough, knowing what the world once looked like and unable to see it anymore.

"Is it still green and blue?"

"Is it still green and blue?"
"Outside of the cities. But the closer you get to civilization, the more gray and dull it becomes." She hesitated. "If I may ask, Charlie, how did you end up in a mess like this? Aside from the children."

"Hmm. Not much different then. "
"If I may ask, Charlie, how did you end up in a mess like this? Aside from the children."
"With her? Or this?" Waves a hand in front of his face.

"Both, but if it's too much, then her."

Both, but if it's too much, then her."
"No it's OK. They both relate to the same thing." He exhaled. "Well I'll start from when everything changed. " he could go from the very beginning, but he rather not speak of his parents. "I was 9-10 when my life fell apart. And I mean all at once. When I was 7 I met a couple who was traveling through town. A pair of nomads who had performed. Immediately I had taken a liking to them as well as their ways. While they stayed here I spent more and more time with them. Although they didn't stay long, they came back the next year. They taught me music and how to play different things. Well the year I turned ten they had a surprise for me, so we loaded up in their car and they drove just past the entrance. " he smiled lightly. "They had bought me a violin to practice on until I found something else."
