"It does," he responds, looking forward to hide the determination set in his jaw. "It's just a matter of reigniting the fire from the dying tinder."

"Then I'll keep reigniting it until it burns and rises to dry out the brewing storm with it's light like the sun." Zale's gaze remains forward, though he doesn't start walking again. Not yet. After a few seconds he takes a deep breath and lets it out again, mulling over his next move.

Staring at the back of her head as she continues forward, he falls into step behind her before letting out a breath and musters a meager smile. "That's better than nothing."
