"You're correct, I don't want those damn sunflower seeds. Ill stick with real nuts thank you. "
Her brow twitches at Ridge's passive glance as she waves away Makai's concern. Sometimes, his calm demeanor and laid back attitude really irks her, but that was only because it was close to the same personality as some one dear to her.
"You're my guide? You're awfully young for this line of work. And who is the stranger with seeds?"
Dresden snorts at the comment on her age. And even more so, he isn't the first one to mention it. She swirls her water around in the bottle, quiet a moment.
"Trying to get information out of her is like trying to crack a stone with a screwdriver," Tobe murmurs, sulking against the wall.
"I've been a smuggler for years," she murmurs, shooting a sharp look to Tobe, keeping her rather harsh demeanor up. "I wouldn't rely on looks to tell you about someone. As for him," she gestures to Ridge by waving her water bottle, "an accidental traveling companion."
Tobe gawks at the girl, blinking. "When the hell did you start dishing out--"
She swiftly jerks another pack of cigarettes from the side pocket of her pack and chucks it at him. "Get yourself a smoke and shut up. You're really starting to press my patience this time around, Broker."
He fumbles to catch it, startled. "So, what, you don't want a report this time?"
"It's hardly been a day, I'm sure it's all the same," she snaps. "Another word and I'll cut out your tongue and toss it out for the wolves to find."

And who is the stranger with seeds?"
Dietrich looked over at her as she answered for him, just as abrupt and secretive as always. Although he couldn't say anything - he too was secretive about most things unless asked. And right now the boy wanted to know his name. "Name's Ridge. " so what if he usually had them address them name first, but he already knew the boys name so what the hell? Turning to her, he squared his shoulders in her direction. "What's the next move?"

"Now now. Can I least smoke with him before you do that?"
Dresden's glare moves to Makai, though the harshness left a little and she snorted, looking away with her expression twisted into stony annoyance.
Tobe opens the pack and taps out two cigarettes, holding one to him as he grumbles, "Be careful around her, kid. She'll liable to tear you apart if you step wrong." Once Makai's close enough, however, he whispers to him so Dresden doesn't hear, "But don't let her fool you." His blue eyes move to him, his sulking expression softening. "There's been plenty of kindhearted stories regarding her. She's not as steely and fierce as she always appears."
"What's the next move?"
Dresden looks at Ridge, not hearing the rest of Tobe's conversation, then back to the bottle. "Get him to the Cape before some other bastard can come through and lay a lie right underneath my nose again." A hand jams through her bangs and over her headband, stopping at her dreads. "I can't believe I didn't see it."

Dietrich nodded as he closed the lid to his container, stuffing the contents into his backpack. Watching her a moment he looked up. "No one's perfect. Your nose isn't the only one he got past. " Eyes crinkling he smiled at her teasingly tapping her nose. "Rats don't smell very pretty anyways. "

"I'll take that into consideration." Makai murmurs quietly back, slipping a hand out of his pocket and lighting it with a zippo that's barely got any juice left
"What's the next move?"
"Get him to the Cape before some other bastard can come through and lay a lie right underneath my nose again.I can't believe I didn't see it."
"Not your fault." he states, exhaling a puff of smoke, standing against the wall by Tobe "But, you don't have to transport me if you don't want to."

Dresden shoots a small glare at Ridge, though something flickers across her gaze before she looks at Makai. "I don't turn down a job. Whoever sent me the letter, they knew my name. No one knows my name, only aliases. Because of that, I can't turn you away." I have to know who, she keeps to herself.
Tobe watches her closely, just like he always has in his almost creepy way as he takes a long draw on his cigarette, making a smoke ring as he exhales.

Dietrich sighs before moving to the door. "Ill be back later. " eyeing her he exhaled. Should he leave her alone? Snorting he shook his head. She would be fine. Besides he didn't think the broker would betray her. Deciding on that, he made his way to the front of the train.

"Suit yourself then." Makai murmurs, eyes closing as he smokes, muscles slowly uncoiling, strained from where he was tired up earlier

"Ill be back later. "
"Suit yourself then."
Dresden watches him go, opening her mouth to stop him, though it closes as she remembers Adam and she falls quiet.
Tobe's head tilts at her. "So, you're going to go ahead and take him?"
Dresden's eyes find Tobe, still heavily guarded, though this time she doesn't snap at him or retaliate. Instead, she sat her water bottle down and move the packs to her side, laying on them and faces the wall, ignoring Tobe.
A small smile reaches his lips and he murmurs, "Every time. It seems almost as though your friend there pulls the flower from the wall, but without him you return to being a wallflower."
Still, no response comes, though her shoulders tense at the term.
Adam works on a piece in the engine room since everything is running smoothly. His hands work at repairing an old toy train he had found some time ago, and he wanted to get it running again. So now, he works on it when he gets the chance. Behind him, he hears someone moving around, though he doesn't look up. "You're not supposed to be up here."

"You're not supposed to be up here."
"No? I suppose not. I don't exactly work on the train anymore. " He peered over his shoulder. "What you working on son?"

"So, you're going to go ahead and take him?"
Tensing at Tobe's question, Makai's eyes flick to Dresden, worry crossing his gaze for a moment before it fades at her silence
"Every time. It seems almost as though your friend there pulls the flower from the wall, but without him you return to being a wallflower."
Studying her, he watches her turn over and her body tense, sighs, putting the cigarette out with his boot before he sits against the wall "WHy don't you leave her be, Tobe. I'm sure we'll be here quite a while."

"No? I suppose not. I don't exactly work on the train anymore. What you working on son?"
Adam looks over his shoulder at the voice, face brightening at the sight of Ridge. "Hey, pops." He looks down at the old train, turning it over in his hands. "I'm trying to repair this old train set I found yesterday at the station. I've only heard stories about them, and none of them run anymore, but I want to try to get one going again."
"WHy don't you leave her be, Tobe. I'm sure we'll be here quite a while."
"Bugging people is my profession," he explains, eyeing Dresden, though his voice lowers. "I know a lot about the people I see every day, but then I get a few like her around and it drives me nuts that I don't know anything about how they work or what their history is. I have to know as a broker, it's my job to know." His gaze slides over to him. "That and I can't stay quiet even if my life depended on it."

Hey, pops."
Ridge cocked his head back at the look given before he sighed. "Still acting like a lost pup."
"I'm trying to repair this old train set I found yesterday at the station. I've only heard stories about them, and none of them run anymore, but I want to try to get one going again."
At that his eyes flashed with excitement, though he hid it otherwise. Sitting down beside him, he looked it over. His eyes clouded at the particular object in his hands, immediately recognizing it. In an instant he was thrown back in time to when Adam was still a boy. He had kept an eye on him before they met. One day while passing through town he had noticed the train and bought it on a whim. It was intended for his kid, if he ever had one. He had lost it years back though, effectivly not abke to gift it.

"Then I suppose you'll just have to live with the one mystery." Makai murmurs, resting his head back against the wall, eyes flicking to his "Cause I very highly doubt we'll ever learn anything about her."
