"I couldn't do anything else even if I wanted."
"Hmm maybe not. There are some things that come easier to certain people. Like for examples trains." he chuckled. "I never saw myself anywhere else but the train. "

Dres looked at him, raising an eyebrow as she listened, though something in his expression seemed to click as she remembered the ride. The brow lowered as her expression shifted. "You know the young conductor, Adam."

"You know the young conductor, Adam."
"Look at you- you're learning. The brat followed me around for at least two years. " he grumbled a moment, although his words were not harsh the least bit. " Well at least he's running it and not someone else."

Her stony eyes seemed to give and soften a moment, though they returned to their former hardness as she looked away. "He's a good guy," she said after a moment. "The first to really care about what others do. You taught him well." She started walking again.

"The first to really care about what others do. You taught him well."
Dietrich watched her as her features grew warmer, a small smile tugging at him as she turned away. Even though it was only a moment, he had seen something out of her. "He is." His feet carried him after her and he looked away a moment. "Not everything." says while simultaneously looking at the city.

"He is. Not everything."
"More than most." She looked to the sky, gauging the time. "We'll stay in town for the night."

"More than most."
Dietrich mulled that over in his head, looking forward with a exhale. He supposed she was right in a way, but he knew for a fact that he could have taught the boy more. Sure he learned everything about the train, but there were other things- like how to throw a ball, or whatever kids did back then.
"We'll stay in town for the night."
"I vote for a bed."

"I vote for a bed."
"We'll have one." She started walking towards an old apartment building, shifting her pack to one shoulder and digging through a pocket.

Dietrich nodded, pleased. "I can pay my own way if I have to."

"I can pay my own way if I have to."
"Don't worry about it," she replied, pulling out a small pack of batteries. "This is a delivery, and she owes me anyway." She walked up to one of the doors and stepped inside, pulling her hood off and looked around. Spotting a woman at a desk, she tossed the batteries, and without missing a beat, the young woman caught them, blinking a moment.
Then, her face brightened. "If it isn't Grey. Welcome back." Dres nodded in hello and the woman continued, looking towards Die, but doesn't question. "I assume you're here for the night?"
"You're right. Two beds, if you would. Or separate rooms. Whichever is more readily available."

Dietrich watched them before steeping forward. "Actually, one bed will be fine. Don't listen to her."

"Actually, one bed will be fine. Don't listen to her."
Dres's head snapped around to him, her expression sharp and incredulous. When the woman spoke again, she gave a small smile. "I've only a room with a bed free." She paused, watching as Dres turned and looked at her, laughing uneasily at the look. "I didn't realize the date. I'll make it up to you next time, Grey."
Staring a moment longer she closed her eyes, an annoyed tick finding its way to her brow. "Don't worry about it. We'll take it. I'll sleep on the floor."
The woman nodded and hand Dres the key, who turned and shot Die a look before starting towards the room.

Dietrich watched them, holding back a chuckle at her facial expression. Once she gave him a look, his face immediately became impassive. He turned to the woman and smirked before following Dres. He hummed as they walked to the room. "You're mad."

"You're mad."
"I don't need your obvious remarks, Sherlock," she hissed quietly, stopping and opening the door that corresponded with the number on the key, then stepped inside. She looked around and pulled off her pack, kneeling on the other side of the bed as she dug through it.

"I don't need your obvious remarks, Sherlock,"
Dietrich shut the door after he was inside, and a frown overtook his face. "Ok so not mad. Pissed. Come on wallflower, I meant nothing by it. And no you will not take the floor."
