With the cloth pulled over the bottom half of her face and her hood and mask on her back, Tae stood slowly, listening. She didn't hear anyone nor see anyone, so using the moment she took off on silent feet towards the wall, using a combination of the main streets and the alley. With evening falling, fewer people stood in her way, but it also meant she was more exposed to anyone lurking nearby.

Charlie traveled down the street in the same daze that the meetings usually put in in. His feet carried him to a back alley that was abandoned. Not many went there. He failed to notice that he passed by the girl that he had met twice before in his haze. Once he was against the wall, hidden far from the street he allowed his body to collapse. Then and only then did he actually show what the meetings were really doing to him. Inside the room, he could never flinch around the woman for she would only do worse things to him- that he was positive off. Normally he would just go home without a complaint, but he hadn't been sleeping at all the past few days.

Out of the corner of her gaze, she saw the doctor, but it wasn't until she heard a body drop that she stopped, turning and looking at him. Any other time, her gaze wouldn't have betrayed her thoughts or surprise. But seeing him in such rough shape compared to what he had been hours earlier, her humanity peeked through and drove away "The Black" she became when she donned the clothes. She hesitated, not knowing what else to do, having been running and trying to find someone she could turn to.
Even being a bounty hunter with many friends didn't save her when money became involved.
"You're the man from earlier," she said quietly, green gaze clouding to hide what she knew in defense.

"You're the man from earlier,
Charlie's eyes opened and he looked forward, up at the sky to let them focus a moment. "And you're the young woman who seems to keep running into me. As much as I don't dislike them, we really should stop meeting like this. " he smiled lightly at her. "How's your arm?" He sat up, back to the wall as he met her gaze, although his muscles protested.

"And you're the young woman who seems to keep running into me. As much as I don't dislike them, we really should stop meeting like this. "
She pulled the cloth down, strands of her hair brushing her cheek and the fresh cut as if peeked from under the hood and shadows. Why did she keep running into him?
"How's your arm?"
"I've had worse," she murmured, studying. "What did you get mixed up in?"

"I've had worse,"
"Sorry its a habit."
. "What did you get mixed up in?"
He paused at the question but smiled remembering her words from earlier. "Don't get yourself involved." that's what you said. "I appreciate the concern, but you shouldn't- not with me."

"Don't get yourself involved." that's what you said. "I appreciate the concern, but you shouldn't- not with me."
She snorted, offering a thin mirthless smile. "I'm sure it's not as bad as what I've already tumbled into. Besides, there's got to be a reason we keep crossing paths, yeah?"
At the sound of voices nearby the smile vanished and her head whipped towards them, poised and alert with a hand ready to pulled the cloth back up. She fell still, unmoving and letting herself blend with the background, though as they grew further away, her muscles lessened the tension. Her expression grew taut. Just how long could she stand and socialize before it all catches up? "Damn them all," she murmured under her breath.

"Oh I promise you its worse. " She's worse. Closing his eyes at the question he turns his head away. "Could be, although I couldn't tell you what it was." he grew quiet at the voices, practically feeling her breath hitch a moment. Once he was sure they were gone, he opened his mouth to speak. "Are you in trouble?"

"Are you in trouble?"
Her smile was thin. "More like it found me." Her eyes traveled back to him. "I can help you off the street, but I can't stay any longer than I have. I've overstayed my welcome as is."

"More like it found me." "I can help you off the street, but I can't stay any longer than I have. I've overstayed my welcome as is."
"NO!" his voice came out harsher then he meant, pushing himself to his feet quickly. Clearing his throat he shook his head, back still against the wall. "I appreciate what you're trying to do, but if my family saw me being helped by someone they would worry. And I don't want them to worry about me. " there were other reasons why he couldn't let her do that. If someone found out, if she found out she might retaliate and use them against him. He leaned his head back against the concrete and let out a sharp breath.

"NO!"
Surprisingly, Tae didn't flinch.
"I appreciate what you're trying to do, but if my family saw me being helped by someone they would worry. And I don't want them to worry about me. "
Her mirthless smile remained, though it held a little more understanding. "Here." She pulled out a ring of keys and tossed them to him. "230 on Barker, just off of seventh. I won't need it anymore."

"Here.""230 on Barker, just off of seventh. I won't need it anymore."
Charlie lifted his hand and managed to catch them, albeit clumsily. "Where will you go?" he took a small step towards her.

"Where will you go?"
"With your situation, don't get involved," she replied. "You've got hell to deal with already. Besides, let's not have you becoming corrupt by money on someone's head." Her smile softened a little. Had she been more open to others, and gotten to know him, she may have been able to be a little more content. "So I'll be leaving town."

"I'm already involved wouldn't you say?" he met her gaze. "I do, so what's one more thing?"
"So I'll be leaving town."
"You don't have to do that. You can stay at my place awhile.I guarantee that no one would bother you there. He met her gaze with a determined one. He couldn't just let her leave. It wasn't right.

"You don't have to do that. You can stay at my place awhile.I guarantee that no one would bother you there."
Tae opened her mouth then closed it again. Her eyes studied him closely, the roughness, his genuine concern. Could she really endanger someone like him? "I can't risk someone else getting hurt," she said quietly. "Besides, you've a family to worry about. Don't concern yourself with a stranger, because I can guarantee you'll be gambling with more than you think with them."
Somewhere on the main street, a voice she recognized as her former companion called out a few blocks away, "C'mon, Blackie! I know you're hiding out here somewhere!"
Her eyes went towards the street and she locked her jaw to keep the hurt from her face, moving away from the opening and pressing herself into a cranny.
